Qualcomm is Going to Launch New Snapdragon Chip Upcoming Week

Qualcomm, an American chipmaker, will release the new Snapdragon chip on March 18 of next week. Qualcomm’s announcement states that a “new flagship product” is forthcoming, although the precise processors it will comprise remain unknown.

This most likely foreshadows the long-awaited Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 for premier Android devices in 2024. This may be nothing more than an overclocked variant of the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, albeit with potential additions. At this event, we also anticipate seeing the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 for affordable phones.

There has been considerable circulating speculation regarding the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 since the start of the year. Model code SM8635 designates this TSMC-manufactured semiconductor featuring a 4nm fabrication process. It is equipped with a solitary-core processor operating at 2.9 GHz and an Adreno 735 graphics processing unit operating at 900 MHz.

Concerning the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, limited information is currently accessible. Recent rumors indicate that the OnePlus Ace 3V could potentially be the first product to incorporate this chipset. However, neither the phone manufacturer nor the chip manufacturer have released any official information as of yet.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, the forthcoming significant flagship processor upgrade for Android smartphones, is not anticipated to be released until October, at the end of the year. Don McGuire, CMO of Qualcomm, verified the Snapdragon Summit event for this year during MWC last month. Oryon processors will power the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 according to the CMO’s video post on X.

Lenovo, Xiaomi, and Samsung are anticipated to be the initial adopters of the new flagship Qualcomm processor. But it is highly unlikely that these phones will be available on a global scale until at least 2025.
